Luis Gutiérrez from Wine Advocate (R. Parker): 90 pnt
"2019 was quite warm, and they harvested early, but it was also dry and low yielding, so the wines have very good acidity. This is the one white where I could compare the 2018 and 2019, as the 2019 A Pedreira had been bottled a couple of months before my tasting. This 2019 feels super harmonious, where the volume compensates the high acidity; this is balanced in a more XL way (relative to the other wines and the house style), and I also feel it's approachable. This comes from four small plots on a slope where the soils are very shallow with very good drainage. It didn't rain in the summer, so ripeness soared. The wine has power and the acidity didn't go down. I think this is going to be a long-distance runner. 18,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2020."

For Manuel Moldes from Fulcro, 2018 was a warm year with lowish acidity, which he compares more with the style of 2016, quite different from the opinion of most of the other producers. 2019 was a cooler vintage with wines with more structure and also more acidity. He sees 2019 as a very complete year, with very good acidity. It all depends on where your vineyards are, and the family vineyards are in places that are quite extreme, on slopes, so warmer in warmer years, drier in drier years. In 2019, the plants were lacking water, and the vineyards with more water in the soil behaved better. The whites do not go through malolactic, so they aim for lower malic acid. It's a year of volume and acidity.
As for how 2017 has evolved, it's a vintage he liked, in a fresher style than 2015, which he sees evolving at a very slow pace. I tasted a couple of 2017 reds, and they are great. The wines from warmish vintages tend to gain freshness in bottle (if that's possible). But 2018 is definitely a great vintage for reds. Total production is around 30,000 bottles.
